Moreover, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two bodies to collaborate for further initiatives in Rawalpindi aimed at women empowerment.

Punjab Bait-ul-Maal Chairman Malik Muhamamd Azam was chief guest on the occasion, while Islamic Relief Pakistan Country Director Umair Hasan and representatives from public and private departments also attended the ceremony.

“Partnering with Islamic Relief for women empowerment is a step in the right direction. We are planning to expand and implement such initiatives across Punjab,” the Chairman said on the occasion.

“Providing the deserving women with skills and a safe place to learn will help us to address the issue of poverty,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Islamic Relief Pakistan Country Director Umair Hasan welcomed the partnership and pledged that all avenues will be explored where similar efforts could be materialised.

He said that Islamic Relief makes rigorous efforts to empower the most vulnerable segments of the society, particularly, women and children, through education and skill development.

“We value our partnerships with the local governments across the country, which we believe are essential to build a safer and progressive Pakistan,” he said while appreciating the collaboration.
