K-P, Sindh govt release funds to combat Coronavirus

KARACHI/ PESHAWAR: Amidst the Coronavirus breakout in the country, the provincial governments of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have released emergency relief funds to combat the disease.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The K-P government issued a sum of Rs0.5 billion, in addition to granting Rs100 million to the relevant authorities earlier.

Briefing on the matter, Adviser to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Ajmal Wazir ensured that the authorities have taken protective measures to disrupt the spread of COVID-19.

While advising the general public to remain calm, the provincial government has explained taking substantial precautionary measures, especially, procurement of all the essential medical equipment on an urgent basis to ease the process of screening masses for the detection of COVID-19.

On the directives of the provincial government, around 1,200 isolation wards have been set up across the province.

The public has been urged to take up preventive measures and avoid large social gatherings in order to stay safe.

 

Sindh

To fight the outbreak of Coronavirus, the Sindh government has set up an emergency fund of Rs3 billion, informed Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Further preventing the spread in the province, the government has implemented extreme precautionary measures, including suspension of public transport. Public offices, Out-Patient Departments (OPDs) at public hospitals, parks, shopping malls, restaurants and food streets have also been closed across the province for 15 days.
