Tokyo: Pakistan Japan Business Council (PJBC) President Rana Abid Hussain has asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to expedite the delivery of $2.5 billion Karachi Circular Railway project.
Japan presented this project to Pakistan 10 years ago as a solution to resolve traffic chaos in Karachi. Lack of efficient governance however, has led to a failure in implementation.
With a cost of $1.5 billion in 2009, the delay has now increased the cost to $2.5 billion.
Rana Abid Hussain has requested the Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid to be a part of the project while calling for the PM to start it on priority basis.
