KMC forms committee to issue Fire Brigade NOC before construction of high-rise buildings

KARACHI: A six-member committee headed by Legal Adviser Azra Muqeem has been formed by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Karachi Fire Brigade Department before the construction of a high-rise building.

The other member of the committee includes Representative of Finance Advisor, Ghulam Murtaza, Director Estate Imtiaz Abro, Director MUCT Nayab Saeed, Director Land Tariq Siddiqui and Humayun from Fire Brigade, who will also work on policy formulation.

The NOC will be issued after the authority is ensured of all the necessary fire extinguishing equipment installed in the buildings, informed Administrator Karachi Laiq Ahmed.

The relevant authorities will fix a set fee for the issuance of the certificate to ensure transparency.
