Bara: While speaking at a public meeting in Bar Qambarkhel of Bara subdivision, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak said that efforts to facilitate development in tribal districts will be expedited.
He announced that the government will issue a total of Rs1 billion by this June for developmental projects in former FATA. Destroyed infrastructure including roads, educational institutions and hospitals will be rebuild.
77 percent of the budget will be provided to members of the local bodies. It will be invested on development schemes in the tribal areas.
Government will also release compensation cheques for houses destroyed in the militancy, said Pervez Khattak. Other plans of the government include the building of cadet college in Bara subdivision, provision of quality education to tribal children and issuance of Sehat Insaf Cards.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister for Information Shaukat Yousafzai, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noor-ul-Haq Qadri and Bara MNA Iqbal Afridi. Shah Khalid Afridi, Shafeeq Afridi and Zubair Afridi were also present as senior leaders from PTI.
