LDA to check quality and deadlines of development works through CCTV cameras

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) acting Director General, Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa has directed officials to install closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras on the project sites to check the quality of work and deadlines schedule.

The aim is to use cameras to ensure community participation and receive feedback to monitor the development of projects. 

The commission stated that he visited the sites on the Samanabad-Gulshan Ravi underpass, the Lahore Bridge, and others on Friday and came to the conclusion that it would be efficient to monitor them with IT-based technology.

Moreover, officials were directed to prepare a comprehensive plan to address the traffic problems before commencing the construction of the Shahdara multi-level flyover. 

The director emphasized the need for all related departments to cooperate with the LDA teams and ensure the quality and speed of development works without any negligence.
