
LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has approved the construction of two underpasses in the budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 in order to ease traffic congestion.
According to sources, the construction of underpasses was proposed by Chief Minister Punjab.
As per details, the underpasses are to be constructed at Akbar Chowk and Samanabad Chowk.
The site study for Akbar Chowk is conducted by LDA’s engineering department. The chowk will be constructed by LDA with their own resources while it will benefit around 248,000 people.
An underpass at Samanabad Chowk on Multan Road has also been suggested to address traffic woes.
The underpass has been proposed at Samanabad Chowk on Multan Road in view of traffic congestion. An estimated Rs1.20 billion has been proposed for the project.
