
LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority has announced the launch of two mega development projects for the relief of people targeted towards the ease of traffic congestion.
Several development projects have been announced in the city, which includes the creation of a signal-free pathway stretching from Ghora Chowk in Cantt to Bedian Road at the DHA Phase-5 roundabout.
As part of this project, a four-lane underpass will be constructed at Cavalry Chowk, while a four-lane flyover will be built at Ghora Chowk. The Defense Mor intersection will also undergo remodelling.
Another project is the Firdaus Market Underpass, connecting Gulberg to Defense Mor via the Cavalry intersection, which is set to be completed.
As per the details, the cost of the signal-free project was estimated at Rs 3.2 billion. This has been adjusted against inflation and increased to Rs 4.2 billion. The project is expected to be completed in eight months.
