
RAWALPINDI: The long-awaited Leh Expressway project is edging closer to approval as the Planning and Development chairman finalised the Project Management Unit (PMU) plan of the project.
The project will resolve the traffic issues of the city and it will help to generate economic in the city.
According to the details, a new agency will be formulated on the same pattern of Ring Road Authority to exclusively monitor the development work of the Leh Expressway, informed RDA Chairman Tariq Mahmood.
Earlier, the responsibility was rested on Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to look after the progress and the implementation of the project.
RDA was also responsible for mobilizing resources under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and acquiring land for the project.
