Peshawar: In a meeting of the delegation from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister of Finance Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra, discussion on uplifting the human development indicators within the merged districts was held.
The 10 years Sustainable Development Strategy was discussed in detail which strongly commits to sustainable development, prosperity and economic well-being of the people. It promises a democratic right to people of the merged districts for their due say in decision making and development process. The strategy addresses all aspects ranging from economic stimulus to infrastructure development including roads, provision of civic amenities including schools, hospitals and commercial areas regulated under provincial laws.
While all cabinet members of the KP government have started paying visits to the merged districts, UNDP will closely work with the federal and provincial governments for sustainable development.
