
ISLAMABAD: The public and private sectors jointly offered 189 sites to the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) for the construction of affordable accommodation.
As per the Ministry of Housing and Works, the private sectors offered 57 sites for the construction of 104,912 houses while the 132 sites offered by the government sectors are yet to be assessed.
As per the details, the government received over two million applications of which only 1.8 million were eligible for the accommodation. Moreover, only 6769 of the low-cost houses have been constructed while the remaining are underway.
