
ISLAMABAD: As announced by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis and Chairman of the Tourism Development Corporation (TDC) Zulfi Bukhari, 32 three-star and five-star hotels will be constructed within the next two years in a bid to boost the tourism industry.
The initiative is aimed at improving the hospitality sector as per the potential the tourism sector holds.
Pakistan will also be hosting the 5-day long ‘World Tourism Forum 2021’. The tourism ministers of all the D-8 (Developing 8) member states, including Turkey, will also participate in this event that is expected to attract over 1,000 foreign visitors.
This forum will give Pakistan the opportunity to showcase the industry’s potential around the globe, Zulfi Bukhari further added.
The event was earlier to be hosted in 2020 but was rescheduled due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
To improve the services and offer better services, the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation’s operations have also been temporarily shut down for restructuring.
