The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has sanctioned a major infrastructure project worth PKR 1.99 billion for the rehabilitation and improvement of Raiwind Road in Lahore. The decision was made during the 77th PDWP meeting chaired by Planning and Development Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan, with key board officials in attendance.
The project will focus on upgrading the stretch from Lake City to Raiwind, aiming to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity in one of the city’s rapidly developing corridors.
In addition to the Raiwind Road project, the PDWP approved two other development initiatives: a PKR 863.5 million scheme to combat Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in Punjab and a PKR 2.238 billion project for constructing a new district jail in Nankana.
These approvals highlight the Punjab government’s ongoing efforts to bolster infrastructure and public services across the province.
