The partnership was formalised during a meeting between PEC Chairman Engineer Waseem Nazir and CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, where both sides discussed measures to improve transparency, quality, and efficiency in large-scale infrastructure works.

As part of the collaboration, PEC will introduce a Project Director (PD) Certification Program, with the first batch scheduled to begin in March. Engineers involved in CDA’s mega projects will be required to undergo this certification to ensure stronger project management, accountability, and compliance with international engineering standards.

The initiative also places strong emphasis on developing young talent. Under the Graduate Engineers Trainee (GET) Placement Programme, 100 graduate engineers will be placed on CDA projects to gain hands-on experience and practical exposure to large-scale development work.

PEC Chairman Engineer Waseem Nazir said practical training is essential for preparing engineers to successfully deliver complex projects. CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa termed the PD certification and training initiatives a significant step forward, adding that PEC’s technical support would help further enhance the quality of engineering works. Senior CDA officials, including member engineering engineer Nafisat Raza, were also present at the meeting.
