People evacuated due to Sutlej floods

KASUR: More than 50 villages have been submerged due to Sutlej floods, as Rescue 1122 makes efforts to rescue the affectees and provide transportation for evacuation, according to officials.

The affected areas include villages near Chanda Singhwala, Basti Bangla Desh, Gati Kalanger, Mastayki, and Bhikiwind. Crops stretching over hundreds of acres of land have also been affected by the floods.

District administration has issued warnings and made announcements in villages near Kanganpur area and Kotli Fateh Muhammad to vacate the villages. However, they are facing difficulties due to the reluctance of the villagers.

On the directives of the government, the administrative authorities have made necessary arrangements to cater to the people and their livestock. Personnel of Rescue 1122 have been transporting people and livestock to a relief camp at Talwar.
