PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Northern Bypass project is expected to be completed by March 2024. The project, which has been in development for several years, aims to ease the heavy traffic congestion in the city.
According to NHA officials, the construction work on the project was previously halted due to land issues but due to the collaborative work of officials, the issue has been resolved.
The first phase of the project has already been completed; the second phase which is about 12 kilometres has been operationalised.
To further expedite the competition of the project, contractors have been instructed to work in double shifts to complete the project by 2024.
Dubbed the “game changer for the region”, the completion of the Peshawar Northern Bypass project will not only benefit the people of Peshawar but will also have a positive impact on the economic development of the region. It is expected to provide easier access to markets and transport hubs, making it easier for businesses to operate in the area.
