Rawalpindi: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) will plant 50,000 saplings during monsoon, said PHA Chief Asif Mehmood.
The plantation drive was inaugurated in Dhok Syedan Union Council by PHA and Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) Chairman Wasiq Qayyum Abassi.
Traders and citizens have also been asked to participate in the drive and protect the plantation, the chairman told media.
“Schoolchildren and government officials will also participate in the plantation campaign,” he said.
He further added that PHA has formed various teams of volunteers who would plant the trees and achieve half of the target before Eid-ul-Azha.
