Lahore: The Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) has launched land record and property transfer services for overseas Pakistanis, beginning with the opening of facilities in London.
A PLRA spokesperson stated that expatriates can now access services such as obtaining Fard (for records and transactions), copies of approved mutations, and e-registry for buyers and sellers.
PLRA Director General Ikram-ul-Haq explained that the new system removes the need for a Power of Attorney by streamlining the process. After fee payment, the e-registry task will be sent by the sub-registrar to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs officer for verification. Following biometric authentication via NADRA, the case will be returned to the sub-registrar for completion.
He emphasized that the initiative will spare overseas Pakistanis from traveling back home for property matters while also curbing fraud. Similar facilities will soon be rolled out in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Spain, the US, and Italy to support the global Pakistani community.
