PM directs authorities to retrieve forest land

ISLAMABAD: Campaigning against land mafia, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed all relevant authorities to retrieve forest land while chairing a meeting of the National Coordinating Committee (NCC) on Housing, Construction and Development.

The authorities have also been ordered to take strict action against all those found guilty.

In addition, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) was also directed to report all encroached land and the ratio of land recovered.

In this regard, the PM also announced fortnightly meetings to review the progress on retrieval of the encroached land.

The meeting attendees included Advisor on Finance Shaukat Fayyaz Tarin, State Minister on Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib, SAPM on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam, SAPM on Political Communication Dr Shehbaz Gill, Governor State Bank Dr Reza Baqir and senior officials. Whereas the Chief Secretary of Punjab and senior officers concerned from the Punjab government joined the meeting via video link.
