The BRT project worth Rs70 billion consists of a 27.5km main track, including 31 stations while the length of the feeder routes is 62km long, consisting of 146 stops.

Seven different areas of the city have been connected to the main track of the project to facilitate the people, who can use small buses to reach the main route.

Out of the total project cost, a loan of $593 million was provided by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and AFD. The provincial government covered the remaining cost.

About 60,000 Zu travelling cards were sold to the people in just four days, the authorities reported.

The Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) has already handed over the route and stations to Trans Peshawar, which has completed the installation of Intelligence Ticking System (ITS).

Under this initiative, three mega commercial plazas being developed are scheduled to be completed in June 2021.

The generated funds, in the form of monthly rent, will be utilised by Trans Peshawar.
