The plan will come into effect by digitising records of government land in all big cities in the first phase, while in the long term, the records of land throughout the country would be digitised.

In a meeting presided by the PM Khan, Chairman Naya Pakistan Housing Society Lt Gen (R) Anwar Ali Hyder presented a short, medium and long-term road-map promoting ease of doing business in the construction sector as he briefed about steps to address the policy issues.

The meeting was attended by Special Assistant to PM on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, and Chairman Board of Investment Syed Zubair Gillani, among others. The approval was given.

Furthermore, the PM was informed that to cater to the dwellers of the city and help counter maladministration, corruption and other problems, an Automated Client Service Centre in Islamabad will be launched.

As the ease of doing business is the top priority, the Government focused on the abolishment of unnecessary permissions and other paperwork in the construction of buildings.

The PM has already abolished the requirement taking permission from the Civil Aviation Authority regarding the construction of high rise buildings in big cities, as the establishment of land courts would sufficiently help resolve the problems regarding land.
