As the appeals were filed by parents of students as well as private schools, the court order further said that the recalculation method must be supervised by regulators and the amount charged must be approved by them and shall be treated as the chargeable fee.

Under any circumstances, the amounts that were reduced in accordance with the Supreme Court’s 2018 ruling are forbidden to be recovered by the private schools. SC has ordered a 20% reduction in the fees charged by upscale private schools as well.

From now on, the fee being charged by the private schools will be closely monitored to ensure strict compliance with the laws and the rules/regulations.

Furthermore, on the directives of the SC, complaint cells will be set up to deal with the violation of the law.
