
Islamabad: An amount of Rs1 billion have been allocated for the Kartarpur Corridor in the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) 2019-20. This includes its land acquisition and infrastructural development.
The first phase expected to complete by November 2019, includes the opening of a four kilometre long visa free corridor for the provision of easy access to Sikh pilgrims from India. An 800-metre-long bridge to be built across River Ravi will be used for transporting pilgrims to the gurdwara. Phase 2 includes the construction of housing facilities and hotels for pilgrims.
