
FAISALABAD: Public welfare schemes are to be implemented under the public-private partnership (PPP) policy and monitoring board, announced Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar while chairing the first meeting of the board.
Furthermore, Dr Muhammad Junaid Ashraf was appointed as the Executive Board Committee Director and approved mega projects to be carried out.
The meeting decided that under PPP mode projects zero-rating tax will be implemented and the line departments will take necessary steps.
Treatment plants worth Rs6 billion will be set up in Sundar Industrial Estate and Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate, Lahore.
The projects under PP partnership also include installation of one million water meters in Lahore worth Rs10 billion and southern loop-III project worth Rs10 billion of Lahore Ring Road will be completed.
Dualisation of Chiniot-Pindi Bhattian Road, a project development facility for Lai Expressway Project, maintenance projects of Gujrat-Jalalpur Jattan Road, Mianwali-Muzaffargarh Road and Faisalabad-Chiniot-Sargodha Road, schemes related to Multan-Vehari Road, Lilla Interchange to Jhelum Road, Tirinda Pannah Muhammad Din-KLM-Head Punjnad Road, Depalpur-Okara Road, Samundari-Jhang Road and Shakargarh-Zafarwal Road were also approved.
