LAHORE: The Punjab Cabinet on Monday approved the budget for the fiscal year 2022-23, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz.
The successful cabinet meeting also resulted in the approval of the financial bill for the fiscal year 2022-23, along with a supplementary budget. An increase in the salaries and pensions of 15 percent for government employees was also approved by the cabinet, along with the endorsement of the MoU for providing cancer patients with free medicine.
The Chief Minister applauded the ministers, finance secretary, and other concerned officials for their efforts in drafting the judicious document. He also stated that the budget has been designed through consultation with political and administrative members of the team.
The budget had a major focus on welfare schemes to provide meaningful relief to the people. The decisions of the cabinet meeting were endorsed by all participants.
Addressing the parliamentary party meeting, the CM stated that, “Despite facing several challenges, we will turn these adversities into opportunities to create comfort for the common man”.
