Lahore: The Punjab government is steadily progressing with its initiative to digitise property records across both urban and rural areas of the province. This effort is a central part of broader land valuation reforms aimed at boosting transparency and improving public service delivery.
A high-level meeting to assess the reform process was recently held at the Board of Revenue’s committee room, chaired by Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Nabil Javed. Attendees included the Member Taxes, Secretary Taxes, and other senior officials.
During the session, officials informed SMBR Javed that land valuation reforms have been completed in nearly all districts, with Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, and Sargodha nearing finalization. These reforms are intended to modernize the existing land valuation system and address inefficiencies in property transactions.
Nabil Javed reiterated the Board’s commitment to fully digitising land records across Punjab, replacing outdated manual systems. He highlighted the benefits of digital records, including increased accuracy, faster service delivery, and fewer land-related conflicts.
“These efforts align with the Chief Minister’s vision,” said Javed. “We are dedicated to protecting citizens’ property rights and enhancing the transparency and efficiency of land governance.”
He further directed officials to accelerate the reform process, urging better coordination at the divisional level to ensure timely completion of the digitisation initiative.
This digitisation drive is part of the Punjab government’s broader e-governance strategy, designed to streamline property transactions, enable accurate tax assessments, and facilitate effective urban and rural planning.
