ISLAMABAD: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has requested the CDA for a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) to link the Leh Expressway with I.J. Principal Road and 10th Avenue.
Under this plan, the Leh Expressway will be connected with the I.J.P. Road project through simple at-grade slip lanes and linking the 10th Avenue with Leh Expressway through an overhead bridge over I.J.P road.
The construction work of the Leh Expressway is being overlooked by the RDA, whereas CDA is working on the I.J.P. and 10th Avenue projects.
In this regard, a meeting attended by CDA’s engineers, consultants of RDA, Zeeruk International (PVT) and National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) was held to review and simplify the design of the proposed overhead bridge to minimise land acquisition.
The construction cost is expected to be covered through Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) or the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) by the RDA. The decision of construction cost and division of toll tax will be finalised after the CDWP and ECNEC.
