RAWALPINDI: Punjab Government has approved to start the construction of the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) Project worth Rs23.6bn and Leh Expressway and Flood Channel Project worth Rs24.9bn after a heads up from the federal government.
According to details, the Planning and Development Board permitted the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to begin work on the 38-kilometre main carriageway from Banth to Thalian as part of the Ring Road project.
Furthermore, the work on the Leh Expressway and Flood Channel projects will also be carried out by RDA.
A senior govt official while expressing his views stated that the land will be acquired as per the laws and an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report will be prepared before the initiation of the project.
