RAWALPINDI: In an attempt to protect the investments of citizens and promote ethical real estate practises, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has announced it will review housing societies, informed RDA Metropolitan & Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Director, Shahzad Haider.
This initiative is aimed at resolving matters pertaining to legal issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to the residents of illegal housing societies from RDA, for the installation of utility services including water, gas, and electricity connections.
The authority will highlight all the existing housing societies that do not abide by the existing by-laws.
Out of a total of 300 private housing schemes, only 49 are legal. This is because many housing societies were established before 1989, prior to the formation of the RDA.
