Recreational canal to be built in Clifton: CM Sindh

Karachi: In a meeting of the ministers and officials, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presided over a meeting at the CM house. It was decided to develop Nahr-i-Khayyam in Clifton into one kilometre long canal for recreation.

The canal will have a treatment plant installed for supplying clean water. Recreational spots will include parks, walking tracks, benches and stalls for food and drink.

Under the meeting, other plans discussed comprise the beautification of Shahrah-e-Faisal. This include uniform colour schemes for buildings.

Architect Shahid Abdullah has been assigned with the task of sketching out details for the plans. It will be presented to the CM once consulted with donors, architects and environmentalists.

The meeting was attended by Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani, CM’s principal secretary Sajid Jamal Abro, Chief Secretary Mumtaz Shah, Kar­a­chi Commissioner Iftikhar Shallwani and more.
