
RAWALPINDI: Director General (DG) Anti-corruption Establishment Nafees Gohar during a press conference has stated that action against the complicit in the Rawalpindi Ring Road case has been initiated.
While briefing the media, the DG anti-corruption establishment informed that former commissioner Rawalpindi, Captain (R) Muhamad Mehmood has been taken into custody for his alleged involvement.
Similarly, Chairman Land Acquisition, Wasim Tabish has also been arrested for his involvement in the scam.
On the occasion, the DG was of the view that the design of the Ring Road project was altered to benefit various housing societies as a result the total cost of the project ballooned to Rs6bn.
The government will make the report public on the Ring Road scam after Eid-ul-Azha.
