ISLAMABAD: Punjab’s Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) has asked the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for a record of the Ring Road Project (RRP), falling within the limit of Islamabad.
As per media reports, the record is currently being compiled and would be shared with the department in the next few days.
It merits a mention that only a small portion of two kilometres of the ring road falls in the domain of Islamabad.
CDA would soon bring forth the details of correspondence that took place between CDA and the Punjab government regarding the controversial project.
Work on the project was stopped in April after an inquiry was initiated against former commissioner Capt (retired) Mohammad Mehmood and other officials for allegedly altering the alignment of the road – apparently to benefit a number of housing societies.
