SC seeks KDA yet again for Karachi’s original master plan

Karachi: While hearing a petition filed by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), a three-member bench headed by Justice Maqbool Baqar and comprising Justices Faisal Arab and Munib Akhtar has once again directed the master plan department of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) to submit Karachi’s original master plan.

This is in regards to KMC approaching the Supreme Court (SC) seeking removal of illegally built shops from the drain passing through Block 6 of Pakistan Employees Cooperative Housing Society (PECHS).

The court has asked for all the details including when the master plan was approved and to whom were the administrative powers delegated to. The secretary of the works and services ministry has also been directed for the submission of the original master plan of PECHS before the next hearing.
