The initiative includes major infrastructure upgrades such as road construction and the replacement of outdated water and sewage pipelines throughout Lyari Town. In the first phase, underground utility work will begin in 13 Union Councils, with new drinking water and sewage systems being installed.

According to Lyari Town’s Municipal Commissioner, Hammad N.D. Khan, water and sewage pumping stations will be converted to solar power, while stormwater drains across the area will be rehabilitated. If funds remain after the primary work, additional projects such as the repair of smaller streets and playgrounds will also be undertaken.

The project’s PC-1 has been approved, and tendering is expected to begin soon, with construction likely to start by December. Officials said the Lyari Transformation Project is part of a wider effort to modernize the area’s infrastructure and improve urban living standards.
