RAWALPINDI: Owners of three illegal housing societies under development in Murree were issued notices and Challan B-34 by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), according to a spokesperson.
The Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate sent out the notices to the owners of the illegal housing schemes in question under Punjab Private Housing Schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010.
The spokesperson said that Director MP&TE RDA has decided to register First Information Reports (FIRs) against the aforementioned parties.
The RDA has advised the public time and again to avoid investing in illegal or unauthorised housing schemes, as the RDA cannot be held responsible for any losses incurred.
Director General (DG) RDA Ammara Khan has reportedly instructed the MP&TE Directorate to take swift action against illegal housing schemes as well as unauthorised development or construction of booking and site offices.
Until last year, the number of housing projects declared illegal in Tehsil Murree stood at 49.
