Dates–Palm Family
Pakistan is the only commercial date-growing country with a wide range of fruits and vegetable exports almost every year. Pakistan ranks third in date production and is one of the major exporters of dates. Date harvesting season begins in July and lasts until September. Annual date reproduction in Pakistan is estimated at between 550,000- 650,000 metric tonnes. Sindh contributes roughly half of all dates produced in Pakistan, with Khairpur Mirs date palms accounting for 90%.
