The dignitary met State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor Reza Baqir and stressed on the importance of inclusive Fintech, saying that digital finance has major potential to benefit the common man’s financial life and it was essential to monitor and minimise relevant risks.

Queen Maxima, while lauding the central bank and Pakistan’s efforts to incorporate gender mainstreaming and digital financial services in financial inclusion, suggested creating a pro-poor gateway for the wider acceptance of micropayment methods as well as persuading people to gradually shift to digital modes of payment.

Baqir had earlier drawn attention to the SBP’s initiatives, commitment and achievements in increasing financial inclusion under the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS) 2023. He added that the central was working hard to decrease the gender gap in financial inclusion.

Both officials agreed to continue exchanging ideas and maintain progress reports on the decided tasks for promoting financial inclusion.
