KARACHI: While presiding over the third broad meeting of the Special Economic Zone Authority (SEZA), Sindh, the development of two Special Economic Zones (SEZs) was approved by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.
The approved SEZs will be established in the private and public sectors.
The approved project includes the Services SEZ with an estimated worth of $250 million and will spread on 50 acres in SITE Nooriabad, Sindh.
In collaboration with Services Industries Limited, a mega-production facility will be set up to manufacture tyres, and meet the domestic market demand.
The second project granted approval is the Naushahro Feroze Industrial Park. The 80 acres SEZ being developed in Naushahro Feroze district will cater to the agro-based industrialization needs of the province, as well as the country.
The meeting also reviewed the proposal for Pakistan’s first private sector SEZ, Bholari SEZ worth Rs20 billion.
The 282.5 acres is located in Bholari in Thatta district on the M-9 Motorway (Karachi-Hyderabad).
