RAWALPINDI: In a meeting chaired by Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, the authority approved 10 economic zones to be established along the Ring Road Rawalpindi project.
The development work on the economic zones will be started as soon as possible to facilitate the business community, which, in turn, will boost the economy.
The meeting was attended by members of Islamabad and Rawalpindi Chambers of Commerce and Industries, RDA officers Muhammad Junaid Taj Bhatti, Deputy Director Finance, Azizullah Deputy Director Engineering and other relevant officials.
Earlier, RDA approved setting up various Special Economic Zones (SEZs) projects, including industrial, educational, recreational, medical, residential and aerotropolis that will be set up along the 65.8km long Rawalpindi Ring Road.
In addition, a dry port, business centres, industrial zones, transport terminals, wholesale markets, amusement parks and residential properties will be constructed on both sides of the ring road.
