ISLAMABAD: While chairing a meeting to review development, Prime Minister Imran Khan approved the uplift of 14 districts under the Sindh Development Programme worth Rs444 billion.
Under this initiative, projects related to roads and motorways, housing, information technology and telecom, water resources, health, higher education, vocational training, disaster management, railways, energy and sports facilities.
The projects are aimed to improve the socio-economic status of Sindh residents. In addition, the authorities have been directed to prioritise underdeveloped and rural parts of the province to assure prosperity
The Prime Minister called for transparency, high-quality work, and compliance with deadlines while implementing the development plan. He also ordered the concerned authorities to expedite work on the Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway and construction of sports centres in Ghotki, Badin, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Thar and Tando Mohammad Khan.
The Sindh Development Plan included 48 Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) projects, 50 non-PSDP projects, and seven public-private partnership projects.
