86,323 housing units, 200,000 jobs to create economic activity worth Rs2314bn

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Housing and Works informed Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Thursday, that development projects worth Rs463 billion were initiated to create 86,323 housing units resulting in 200,000 jobs.

As per sources, a meeting of the National Coordinating Committee for Housing, Construction and Development was held which was chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan where the participants were informed that the project will create accelerated growth in the construction sector with economic activities worth Rs2314 billion. 

Several prominent officials including Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin, State Bank Governor Reza Baqir, PM’s Special Assistant Dr Shahbaz Gill, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib and New Pakistan Housing and Development Authority Chairman Lt-Gen Anwar Ali Haider (retd) along with other senior officials were part of the meeting.
