According to the KMC Director Anti-Encroachment Bashir Siddiqi, the encroachments included goat cages, dastarkhawans and a large number of makeshift offices on footpaths. More than 50 such encroachments were removed in the areas of Golimar, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Gulberg, Godra, New Karachi, Liaquatabad, Nagan Chowrangi and Sohrab Goth. Other areas include Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Sharea Faisal, Lines Area, Hassan Square, Civic Centre, Numaish Chowrangi, front of the Liaquat National Hospital and Agha Khan Hospital.
