
QUETTA: The provincial government of Balochistan has decided to develop 49 dams worth Rs6.4bn in the province to meet the demand for water in the province.
According to the details, the government has allocated funds for the construction of dams under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) of the ongoing fiscal year.
As per the allocations under the Fiscal Year 2021-22, Rs298mn has been allocated for the construction of Awaran Dam whereas a Command Area will also be constructed for harvesting rainwater in the region.
The construction work on the new dams is going to start soon and the dams will also provide water for the irrigation of land.
