ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Amer Ali Ahmed on Thursday visited the city’s under-construction metro stations for the Blue and Green line metro projects, directing the workers to expedite the work.
The Chairman visited Bhara Kahu and PIMS station, which are part of the Green Line metro project. He also visited the Koral station for the Blue Line metro project. He was briefed on the progress of the metro stations, with the Bhara Kahu station expected to be completed within a month, while PIMS and Koral stations are to be completed shortly.
CDA has planned to launch these two metro bus services within the next two months on existing roads. The civic agency has requested funds from the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) to construct designated corridors for the two metro projects.
The federal government had already allocated Rs1.5 billion to the Green and Blue Line bus projects from the upcoming budget for the fiscal year 2022-23.
Rs1 billion have been allocated to the Rawat-Faizabad Blue Line project while Rs500 million have been earmarked for the Bhara Kahu-Faizabad Green Line project, according to the budgetary document.
