Islamabad: In a significant move to preserve government land, the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Captain Noor Ul Amin Mengal led a successful operation against encroachments.
The operation, which saw the active involvement of the Enforcement Directorate, Land and Rehabilitation, Islamabad Administration, and Islamabad Police, took place in Bhika Syedan, resulting in the eradication of illegal constructions and encroachments.
A total of 180 rooms, 40 washrooms, 22 kitchens, and 30 buildings that were built without authorization on government land in Bhika Syedan were demolished efficiently with the assistance of heavy machinery. The primary objective of this operation is to ensure uninterrupted progress in the development work by reclaiming the land intended for various sectors.
Speaking about the operation, Chairman Captain Noor Ul Amin Mengal emphasized the need to swiftly complete the remaining development work in Bhika Syedan by eliminating encroachments. He further said that the operation started to eliminate land encroachments from the land acquired for the sectors and will continue without discrimination.
The Capital Development Authority has been conducting operations against illegal constructions and encroachments for several months. As a result, billions of rupees worth of government land has been recovered. The CDA has stated that this operation against illegal occupants on government land will continue with continuity.
