CDWP approves development projects worth Rs25bn

ISLAMABAD: In a meeting headed by Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved four projects worth Rs25bn and forwarded two projects of Rs44.3 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC).

Development projects pertaining to health, transportation and communications came under discussion in the meeting.

According to the details, three projects related to the health sector of Rs17bn were given a go-ahead.

The three projects are broken down into ‘Khyber Institute of Child Health and Children Hospital District Peshawar’ which is to be constructed at the cost of Rs7.99bn.

The ‘Strengthening of DHQ Hospital’ for enhancing its capacity to counter future pandemics and covid-19 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the cost of Rs3.34bn, and ‘Mother and Child Hospital and Nursing College’ worth Rs5.62bn are to be constructed in Bahawalnagar.
