ISLAMABAD: On Friday, the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) sent four development projects worth Rs352.9 billion for approval to the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (Ecnec).
The meeting was chaired by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan.
The meeting took up several projects, including the construction of the six-lane Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway (306km-long), the construction of the northern section of Ring Road (Warsak Road to Nasir Bagh), and the restoration and revamping of Orangi and Gujjar Nullahs.
According to media reports, CDWP recommended the construction of the Hyderabad-Sukkur divided-fenced motorway on a build-operate-transfer basis to Ecnec.
It is pertinent to state that the total cost of the project is Rs308.19 billion, and it will be executed by National Highway Authority (NHA).
