China grants $4mn in aid to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: China has granted an aid of $4 million to Pakistan to combat the spread of Coronavirus pandemic in the country, announced Economic Affairs Minister Hammad Azhar.

Furthermore, the neighbouring ally has also given 300,000 medical face masks, 10 ventilators, and essential equipment and vowed to arrange more ventilators that will be utilised to treat and contain potential COVID-19 cases in the region, he further added.

Prior to this, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and World Bank (WB) offered funds worth $350 million.

Emergency funds worth Rs7.5 billion allocated by the National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF) were released to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) by the finance division

The relevant authorities have been advised to utilise the funds for surveillance and control management.
