Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) had sealed a commercial building in G-6 for its non-conforming use.

It was originally allotted for a wedding hall but was later converted into offices and residential apartments. Its parking space was being illegally utilized for running a departmental store.

According to CDA, conversion of a wedding hall to residential apartments requires a conversion fee and related documents. However, applicable conversion charges were not paid by the owner.

The same building was sealed by CDA previously but unsealed by other court orders. Now however, a court stay had been vacated and so the building has been sealed, said Director Building Control Faisal Naeem.
