Lahore Fort’s mural is an important Unesco World Heritage Site in Lahore. The 450 meters long and 17 meters high mural is the world’s largest mural and was declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in 1981. It is intricately decorated with glazed tiles and mosaics. 

The mural was initiated during Mughal Emperor Jahangir’s reign in AD 1624 and was completed in AD 1632 during the reign of Emperor Shah Jahan. 

As per reports, the project includes fortification and consolidation of the picture wall; decorative elements are also be to restored. The project is expected to be completed by December 2022. 

The project is a collaborative effort of the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA), the Royal Norwegian Embassy, the Embassy of Germany and the government of Punjab.
